Though drums were outlawed since before the United States was born, African captives and their descendants in the colonies/U.S. kept on playing: fiddle, banjo, bones, triangle, and tambourine. These instruments, their aesthetics, and their stereotypes became the Minstrel Man's (& Woman's) stock in trade.
A lifelong percussionist, urban shaman, and historian, Súle Greg Wilson continues to share tenets, tunes, tales, and techniques to bring these ancestral voices back to us, today. Join in the (sacred) fun!
